For those who head South for the winter, 30A has plenty to offer! From local events and activities designed for Snowbirds to the area’s year round offerings, people who travel to 30A during the offseason are sure to have a great time as they experience all that South Walton has to offer.

Local Events
When people travel to the beach, many believe the “things to do” would only take place in the summertime. 30A is definitely bustling during the summer season, but the local area also hosts multiple large events in the winter such as the 30A Songwriters Festival in January or the Sandestin Gumbo Festival in February. While it may not be the busy season, there is still plenty going on in the local area during the months Snowbirds are in town. Food
With so many delicious restaurants in the area, you will not go hungry on your trip to 30A. While some may not be open in the offseason, be sure to try local favorites including Great  Southern Cafe & The Red Bar which are open year round. We also suggest Snowbirds visit the local Farmers’ Markets in Seaside and Rosemary Beach. These weekly markets include a variety of local vendors that give Snowbirds the opportunity to buy ingredients that they can cook in their condo or beach cottage.

Activities
While the area’s local events and foodie scenes are great, we know you traveled to 30A to take advantage of the activities that you can’t do in the cold winter weather back home. Here are some activities we suggest for Snowbirds to enjoy during 30A’s mild winters:

Relax on the Beach - The water may be a bit cold, but a calm beach day during the offseason is always something we recommend to winter visitors. The uncongested beach will offer peaceful, unobstructed views that Snowbirds have driven hundreds of miles to witness!

Fish

Whether you want to grab a pole and fish on land or head out on a deep sea fishing excursion, we encourage our visitors to partake in this relaxing pastime that is ingrained in our culture here on the Gulf Coast.

Shop

So many of 30A’s tiny neighborhoods have unique shops for visitors to stop in and browse. From bookstores to clothing boutiques to art galleries, there is something for everyone that want to buy keepsakes on their winter escape.

Bike

Rent a bike a cruise down highway 30A. Not only is this a great way to exercise on your vacation, but it’s also a unique way to experience the region. Don’t worry, 30A is very bike and pedestrian friendly!

Experience the Culture - From catching a performance at the Seaside Repertory Theater to taking an art class at The Shard Shop, there are ample opportunities to experience the culture and art scene along 30A.
